Island Park, Idaho

ISLAND PARK is a fisherman’s paradise in the summer as well as in the winter with spectacular ice fishing. Henry’s lake produces 13 inch to 24 inch and occasionally 30 inch trout; cutthroat, rainbow and brook trout. Fifty percent are natural spawn. You can float with guide services or stream fish, troll with your own boat or float tube. Island Park Reservoir is very similar to Henry’s lake game fish. You’ll see moose, elk, bear, and even an occasional bison as you fish in the various areas available.

If you enjoy scenery this is the place for you. Mountains, valleys, rivers teaming with trout, waterfalls, and grassy meadows filled with wild flowers and wildlife. There is an abundance of walking trails. You may be interested in seeing this beauty by horseback. It’s an easy way to explore this vast country of beauty.There are many horseback rides available which range from 1 to 3 hour tours. Don’t forget your camera.

Island Park has hundreds of miles of groomed trails. You can rent snowmobiles or take guided tours throughout this winter wonderland. These snowmobile trails give access to mountains rising more than 8,000 feet in elevation. Follow the trail to the renowned Two Top for great hill climbing and powder bowls.A trip to Two Top is a must see for any snowmobile enthusiast

There are over 40 miles of groomed cross country ski trails from Island Park to Harriman State Park system. If you do not have you own equipment it is readily available for you at many locations in Island Park.

Island Park is located only 20 to 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park’s west entrance so you can have the best of both worlds when you choose to vacation in Island Park. So avoid all the crowds of West Yellowstone and come ride on the longest main street in America which exceeds over 33 miles. Island Park is known for its historical land marks such as Big Springs, Mesa Falls, John Sack Cabin, Quake Lake, and much more.
